850M OP for Retro Rounds
The Optimism Collective has announced a new approach to Retroactive Public Goods Funding (Retro Funding), allocating 850M OP tokens to reward impactful work across Optimism and the Superchain. Retro Funding will operate through categorized rounds, focusing on specific contributions like onchain builders, OP Stack improvements, governance enhancement, and developer tooling support, with each category slated for different rounds throughout 2024. The first Layer 3 on Base
The Degen Chain, a layer-3 blockchain built for the Farcaster ecosystem on Base, was announced. This Layer 3 is aimed at fostering a community-first approach, the chain encourages development and user experimentation. Lisk L2 Grant Program
Lisk has introduced their new L2 Grant Program. The Grant Program provides developers with access to up to $100,000 in hard funding. The foundation has set up a structured three-tier system. The Bootstrap Grant, up to $4000, provides foundational support for early-stage ideas, the Builder Grant offers up to $16,000 for projects ready to expand, and the Booster Grant, the highest level, provides up to $80,000 for significant project scaling. ERC20 minting on Zora Network
Zora introduces ERC20 minting, allowing creators to accept various tokens, including stablecoins and memecoins, as payment. This feature enhances flexibility for creators and collectors, enabling earnings in a range of tokens. The Collective Feedback Commission
The Collective is moving towards including the community in metagovernance through a new initiative, the Collective Feedback Commission. This commission, comprising 10 Citizens and 15 delegates selected for their notable contributions, will participate in early governance design feedback. Qualifying members will be contacted to join before the deadline on March 31st, with a 6-month trial starting on April 1st. Additionally, Phase 1 features regular community polls on governance aspects, allowing all community members to contribute their insights. Read all about the new initiative here.
