Prologue

Let me first ask you, how would you define your own success?

Growing up this was a question that I was asked by family, friends and most often myself. Was my success measured by good grades? Popularity? Being rich?

I soon realised that such a simple question posed many underlying themes of complexity.

I would often discuss with close friends of mine, the different definitions of success everyone has and what it would take to materialise those ideals.

One day I came across a single quote that encapsulated my entire emotions into words:

“Success is the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal”

This resonated to my core. I consciously realised more than ever that everyone in this world is in pursuit of their own ideal success, whether that means fulfilling their dream of becoming a teacher, excelling in their career, or being a good parent; you get the point. Success was never black and white and everyone’s got a different definition they’re working towards. Once I understood this I realised it was never the final destination that was important, it was the entire process and journey of how we get there.

The Spark

Growing up I was filled with ambition, curious desire, and a strong drive to achieve the goals I set for myself. However, as time went on I began to feel the slow burden of life take its toll which slowly eroded that once fiery passion I had.

On one fateful day, I remember being in discord with my friends and stumbling across NFTs for the first time.

I was left in awe.

I remember it all so vividly, setting up my own MetaMask, browsing different collections, exploring rarities, and finally the nervous yet exciting phase of purchasing my first NFT.

It was like a switch had suddenly flipped inside me. That once fiery passion to become something of myself had blazed back into existence. I could feel the smile etched across my face as I spent hours and hours of my time in Discord exploring the NFT ecosystem with my friends.

Then a thought hit me; What if I could create and share this transcendent experience with others?

With a burning desire in my heart, I realised this was the start of my worthy ideal and began to work away.

There you have the genesis of Stics.

The Challenge

Stics will be a collection of 3,000 unique Stic figures inscribed onto the

Each Stic is a representation of the youthful passion that lies within us all and a memento to strive toward realizing one’s ideals. The simple childlike artwork is to act as a reminder of the inner desires we all had growing up.

Stic holders will be fully entitled to utilize their NFTs to construct, explore, and collaborate within the realm of Web3, to help move towards a more decentralized future.

Throughout my Journey in Web3, “trigger terms” are used all the time to build hype and over-promise what a project can actually deliver. Utilities such as DAOs, token airdrops, future launches, staking, and the list goes on and on. This usually sets a project up for failure before any type of intrinsic value is actually created.

Stics will not take the same approach:

• Zero false promises are made at the cost of each collector.

• There will be zero venture capital funding.

• The utility and value are completely reliant on each collector’s interpretation of their figure.

• Each holder will have full commercial rights to use their Stics how they see fit.

• Stics is also intended to be appreciated as art and for now will be a standalone release.

This collection was a challenge to myself and hopefully, a memento to everyone else that the final destination was never important. It is the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal that holds the most significance in defining your own success.

My final message is to challenge yourself and see how you can make Web3 a better place. No action is too small and without action, there can be no change.
