Redstone Chain
In February, Lattice announced Redstone Chain, a plasma implementation for the OP Stack. Redstone is a cost-effective chain for onchain games, worlds, and other ambitious applications. It operates like a traditional optimistic rollup, except it posts a data commitment hash instead of posting the input state to L1. The input state corresponding to the input commitment is stored offchain by a Data Availability Provider.
Redstone Mainnet
After nearly a year of development and a month-long Race to Mainnet campaign, Redstone welcomes gaming enthusiasts and developers throughout the Superchain and Ethereum ecosystem to explore on-chain worlds. Redstone has launched a range of supported features: Redstone Market, an NFT marketplace developed by Reservoir; Relay. Link, a fast-bridge enabling L2-to-L2 bridging; Redswap, a public goods DEX utilizing Uniswap v3 contracts; and Safe, Randcast, and Rainbow for custom network support.
Redstone Future
This May, Redstone is unveiling an exciting array of new releases that cater to a diverse group of gamers and creators. Highlights include Biomes, a Minecraft-like digital sandbox, and DEAR, a charming new game from ARPA Network featuring whimsical pixel art and a timeless narrative of good versus evil. Dark Forest enthusiasts will enjoy DF Archon, which offers community-led sessions of the popular onchain game. There are so many more launches to come; check out all the upcoming launches here.
Starting today, Redstone launches the first Redstone Worlds Expo, a two-week showcase of the new apps and games on its platform. From May 1st to 15th, the Redstone Community website will feature a different game each day, enriched with exclusive events, developer insights, and livestreams
At Superchain Eco, we're excited about Redstone Chain and excited to see how onchain gaming evolves within the Superchain.
