Mortality and the Suit of Iron Man

You don’t need to be a fan of the Marvel hero, Iron Man, to understand the concept.

Iron Man’s suit has a power source right in the middle. Remove that power, like a battery, and the suit loses its efficacy.

It occurred to me the other day that, and this isn’t some big massive insight, that humans are driven by a source of power that is central to their being.

Call it motivation, passion, whatever.

The hard part, however, are those times when the battery of one passion wears out and you haven’t yet found the right kind of replacement battery.

There’s a void and you know you need to fill it…but not any old power source/battery will do.

You need the right one for the right time of your life.

Sometimes it’s career, sometimes it’s money. Sometimes it’s family. Sometimes it’s running that marathon.

As you change though, the type of battery that will power you changes.

Recognize there’s a void.

Figure out what kind of new battery what you need.

Wander the aisles of the store of life until you find it.
