Hype Testnet Guide

When it comes to regret in the world of Crypto, there usually isn’t just one. Every time you forget your last big regret, another one come knock you in the face. $HYPE did this last week, right between my eyes. I did test out some of their perps when they begin their testnet back in December 2023 (and early January) but failed to accept to their terms and conditions on time so I didn’t get any airdrop. Based on the points I accumulated and the calculation I got from one of the degens, I feel like I missed out close to $40,000 on this (with $HYPE going $23 a piece).

But, the thing with Crypto is, if you miss an opportunity, there are about a hundred that awaits. Especially with the Hype Ecosystem still in very early stages.

So what can you do to earn some points and potentially some airdrop on the $HYPE Ecosystem? Fear not, here are the step by step instructions.

Pre-Requisites

a. You should have Rabby Wallet (if you’re not following the trend, then you should have the lamest of all the wallets, Metamask)

b. Create a brand new wallet, specifically for this activity.

HyperLend

Step 1: You open the Testnet URL

Step 2: You acknowledge the disclaimer thrown at you. Read the terms, if you’re sleep deprived.

Step 3: Take a Quick Tour, if you want or “Skip for Now” since I’m giving you the tour.

Step 4: Connect Wallet at the right top corner.

Step 5: Metamask or Rabby should give you an option to add the HyperEVM Testnet.

Step 5: Switch to HyperEVM Testnet

Step 6: Click on “Faucet” on the left panel.

Step 7: You might have to verify that you’re a human.

Step 8: Wait 1 min and you will get a few ETH (Before you jump up in joy, it’s testnet Eth, I’ve 10s of it, carries no value). You (might) get a prompt “Testnet Eth Claimed”.

Step 9: Click on “Markets” on the left panel.

Step 10: Click on “Supply” button parallel to the “ETH” asset - The screenshot should give you a better idea.

Step 11: Don’t supply all your ETH - just give 50% - approve the transactions on the MM (MetaMask) or Rabby wherever applicable.

Step 12: After you supply, you can go to Dashboard and see that you have some Collateral.

Step 13: You can borrow some MBTC under the “Markets” section. Would advise you use the same 25% to borrow.

Step 14: After a while, repay the borrowed MBTC (you’ll see all the buttons on the Dashboard)

Step 16: Repeat the process until you feel numb (just kidding). Would advise you do this at least two or three times a week.

Now we move on to:

Hypurr Finance

On the same browser and wallet you used for HyperLend, open a new tab and go to this link.

Click on “Connect” on the right top corner to connect your MM or Rabby (or the looooong “Connect Wallet” button at the middle of the page).

Click on Faucet on the middle top of the page and go “Click to start verification”

You might have to prove that you’re human and then you can “Claim Faucet”

This will give you a small amount of ETH, SolvBTC, wHYPE, USDC and sUSDe - so very nice fellows eh?

Go to Dashboard and you have a variety of option to Supply and Borrow. Play around on all the pools.

I personally like hypurr.fi than HyperLend because of the seamless interaction and very easy to navigate interface. Like in any lending world, you lend some crypto and borrow some in return. Images below are for reference.

Repeat the process, for HyPurr has a lot of assets to play around (unlike HyperLend which only has ETH and BTC booooo)

HyperSwap

Now comes the final part where we swap around some of the test assets.

Go to HyperSwap where you can swap testnet assets, add liquidity and even launch a new token yourself.

• When you go to the page, it asks you to connect the wallet - use the same MM or Rabby that you used in the previous steps.

• You will still have some ETH left from the two faucets that we used to claim.

• Use contract addresses as below for your swap (these are my tokens lol) - you will get a prompt to add the token, you can add it so you can swap it back again.

• Use small amount of ETH as the liquidity is small lol - refer screenshots below.

You can use the “Launcher” tab of the above screenshot to launch your own token as well.

Psst.. There’s yet another Lending platform available but I haven’t quite figured out how to lend my eth there lol. If you figure it out, let me know.
