Kiel Invest, organized by Kieler Volksbank, took place on 10th of February 2024 in Kiel. coinIX, the company that I work for, had an exhibition booth there as well. This event is usually filled with traditional financial experts and we were wondering what would be the attitudes of the visitors towards blockchain; So we conducted a survey with 38 retail investors at Kiel Invest. Here’s some facts about the results:

• 26,3% of the participants thought Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are interesting, but they lacked the technical understanding

• 36,8% of the participants had already invested in cryptocurrencies and blockchain through Funds, ETFs or providers like Bison and coinIX

• 73% of the participants didn’t have a crypto wallet

• • 27% of the participants had their own crypto wallets

• 64.2% of the participants had no crypto and blockchain investments in their Portfolio

Even though most of the participants had no interactions with blockchain; I find it impressive that many of them said that Blockchain is interesting for them and they just don’t understand it or didn’t have the time to deal with it.
