In our last article, we talked about how Chang'e was forced to eat the medicine given to Hou Yi by Xi WangMu, which made her an immortal and she flew to the moon.

After that, Yang Jingxian from the Yuan Dynasty wrote a play called "Journey to the West." This play inspired Wu Cheng'en from the Ming Dynasty to write one of the Four Great Classical Novels of China, a long chapter-by-chapter fantasy novel called "Journey to the West."

This book is now one of the Four Great Classical Novels of China.

Chang'e's story continues in "Journey to the West"

In this book, it tells how Chang'e, after arriving on the moon, lived in the Guanghan Palace and became a fairy. At a peach banquet held by the Xi WangMu, she was harassed by Marshal Tian Peng, who had too much to drink.

Fortunately, before Marshal Tian Peng could do anything, he was arrested by the disciplinary officers and taken to the Lingxiao Hall to be punished.

The Jade Emperor was very angry when he konw about this and wanted to execute him according to the heavenly laws.

But because Tai Bai Jin Xing pleaded for him, the death penalty was changed to 2000 hammers and being sent to the mortal world as a commoner.

However, when he was reborn, he was mistakenly born as a pig and later became a pig monster.

Guanyin Bodhisattva & Zhu Ganglie

Marshal Tian Peng was originally a heavenly official in charge of the Milky Way.

So, when he became a pig monster, he naturally couldn't keep that name, so he changed it to Zhu Ganglie and lived in Yunzhan Cave.

Later, he was persuaded by Guanyin Bodhisattva to do good and took vows, only eating vegetarian food and keeping the precepts.

He waited here for Tang Sanzang to come and accompany him to the West to get the scriptures, to make up for his sins, and finally return to heaven to continue being an immortal.

Zhu Ganglie

The mortal heart rises again, causing a stir in Gao Village

Days passed, and Tang Sanzang never came, so Zhu Ganglie started to think of other things.

He transformed into a human and met Old Gao in Gao Village. Old Gao had no sons, only three daughters, and Zhu Ganglie took a liking to Old Gao's third daughter, Cui Lan.

So Zhu Ganglie, in human form, went to Old Gao's house.

Old Gao, because he had no son in the family, was also looking for a son-in-law to marry into the family. Seeing that Zhu Ganglie was delicate and alone, with no entanglements, he agreed.

Zhu Ganglie thus became related to Old Gao's family. Because Zhu Ganglie was once an immortal, although he was hit 2000 times in heaven, he still had some divine powers.

So the Gao family's life got better and better, and soon they had a lot of property.

But because he was a monster, and a pig monster, he had to eat a lot of food every day.

Old Gao didn't mind the food, after all, it was all grown by Zhu Ganglie.

But as time went on, Zhu Ganglie began to pay less attention to maintaining his human form.

Zhu Ganglie slowly grew a long snout and big ears, with a mane on the back of his head, and because he never hid that he could move sand and stones.

Every time Zhu Ganglie came, a cloud would form first, and then he would appear. When he leave somewhere, a fog would form first, and then he would disappear.

He would come during the day and leave at night.

Soon Old Gao and his neighbors all knew that he is not mankind, he is a monster.

Old Gao, seeing that he was a monster, naturally didn't want to be related to a monster.

He felt his reputation was damaged, having a monster as a son-in-law, and no one around would interact with his family anymore.

Old Gao wanted to break off the engagement, but Zhu Ganglie would not agree.

Zhu Ganglie, seeing that Old Gao wanted to break off the engagement, relying on his cultivation, locked Cui Lan in a room in the backyard and locked the door with a copper lock with no keyhole.

Old Gao regretted it, and started looking for monks and Taoist priests to subdue the monster.

But ordinary monks and Taoist priests are all mortals who have cultivated, and Zhu Ganglie is a monster who became a monster from an immortal, so naturally, they couldn't stop him.

In the blink of an eye, Cui Lan had been locked in the backyard for half a year.

Old Gao had already sought out all the monks and Taoist priests nearby, and no one could defeat this monster.

So he let his relative go out and look for a powerful mage who could subdue this monster. Unexpectedly, he met a savior not far away.
