Midlife Crisis

Have you ever had a midlife crisis? I think I’m finally having the coveted experience. Just turned 40. Stuck in a dead in job that barely allows me to survive. I’ve been living off my savings since my wife lost her job when COVID struck. She hasn’t worked since. I figure we have about 1-2 years of money left before we are literally unable to pay rent and utilities.

Isn’t your life supposed to be better as you get older? You accumulate things, have experiences, and grow. All I do is work, drink, sleep, repeat. Days off involve gig work.

I feel close to killing myself.
